Visited the Norfolk Naturalist Trust center at Barton Turf today, was brilliant last year. For a couple of quid you get all sorts of free activities, guided walks, free solar powered boat trip on Barton Broad.

I'm a little disappointed this evening, had some great opportunities but my wife invited her sister and her noisy nosey kids along (my neice and nephew) and they managed to spoil most of the good stuff - feel a little guilty having these horrible thoughts about them but hey ...

Spotted a hobby grabbing dragonflies on the wing but my neice banged into the tripod as I shot, then I managed to only get a couple of shots of at some mating dragonflies before my neice fell on them.

Other missed opps include marsh tit, dragonfly eating a damselfly, grebe on nest, swan flying towards me when on boat, we were the only boat that didn't see kingfishers and a couple of the trips had kingfishers land on the rails of the boat - doh !! And to finish me off and mess up my normal cool - there was a brilliant medieval story-teller we've seen before, and would my bloody neice and nephew shut-up? Would they bugg*r.

Next time it's me and my own kids, who were well behaved and quiet when needed, might as well have taken the dog to scare off all my chances
